What's the Appeal?
This one will be a little short, but I just want to know.
What's the appeal of girls drawing original characters or fan art of male characters with a wrapped condom hanging out their mouths? You can break that shit some day. I don't understand the fan service.
Nothing says sexy like unplanned pregnancy.
I'm not shaming, because sexy animated young men. But I find it odd. Is this a fetish thing?

Cosplay Ideas. Also, Dwarves or Satyrs?
Since I am a huge Hobbit nerd, I know what my next cosplay will be. I was actually thinking about doing two cosplays, but I shenanigan around and I don't think I'll have the time or money to do both. But for the cosplay I absolutely want to finish, I want to be a dwarf.
I won't be doing a character specifically, but I'll be one of the dwarf ladies that can be seen in the background. Preferably eating cake and not being set on fire by a dragon, no matter how sexy the voice of the dragon is, fire is bad.
Hopefully I can go all out with the dress, which has a fairly simple design, and get slightly pointed ears. I don't want them too pointy, but I also just don't want to have huge ears. I did some concept studies on Tolkien's dwarves and they have bigger than normal ears. I'm not entirely sure if I will do ears yet.
I've got the design for my dress down. I can't draw clothing in detail, so I actually went into a popular Hobbit scene maker and made the dress with that. I feel like posting it, so excuse the laziness of my nonexistence art skills.
Now the second cosplay would be Lynette from Soul Calibur III. I'd make the skirt of her dress a little longer, but I'd still make I poof. My only concern besides time and money is the length.
Cosplay on a budget is easy. Cosplay on a super tight budget is not.
On another note, my boyfriend and I have been having a play argument. So why don't you guys help me settle this? Tell me, would you rather be a dwarf or a satyr?

Anime, Cosplayers, and Bee Bops
I had an absolute blast at OMGcon. I met a lot of wonderful people, and had lunch with some of them at a 50's-retro diner, called Bee Bops. It was amazingly amazing. The place is beautiful on the inside and out, the food is fantastic. If you're ever in Owensboro Kentucky, I very seriously suggest it.
As a rule, we try to take as many pictures of the children cosplayers we can. No pedobears here, my boyfriend and I just really love boosting the children's confidence.
We met wonderful people out smoking. We talked to a woman who gave us a cigarette for a dollar, I gave her a few more because, even tough she said one for a dollar, I felt like I was cheating her. She was 62, and everyone calls her Oma. She was wonderful!
We also hung with some of the cool cats from the Artist Alley. One, we found out, was from out home county.
I got my brother a Dragon Ball Z DVD, I got my father a pocket knife with skulls, and I spent the rest of my money on a beautiful One Ring replica.
I got lost from my boyfriend, this is the first time something like this has happened, and had a panic attack. I have sever social anxiety. A few people helped me find him.
Besides me being dumb and getting lost, the only down point, which wasn't really a down point, was our friend, Collin, knocked on our door to be let in at almost 7 AM. Besides that, I had the best time of my life.

I've been busy packing! OMGcon is this weekend! That's only one reason I'm excited right now.
I've also won OMGcon's grand prize in the like and share contest! Which means I get a free pass to their 2015 convention! I'm all packed and ready to roll! My next post will be after the con, I'll be updating what I see, as OMGcon is in a new place! I'll explain my tales of nerdness and tell you all what I've gotten from there!

As a big girl in the cosplay world, I feel I have to make this rant. Warning, there may be colorful language used. I apologize if this offends you. But then again, I don't.
My only 'accurate' cosplay would be Yunbo from Xam'd. I only would have the options of Yunbo, or a list of big, yet not so popular or doable, characters. Obviously this pisses me off. Yes, I think it's ok to cosplay anyone regardless of race or size. But many people don't feel this way. And that is a very sad thing.
I don't do skin reviling cosplay. That's just not me. But I think if a girl wants to cosplay in a bikini, she should.
No, I don't often like to see a girl cosplay Thor in a bikini, but that's only because I feel it's a little inaccurate. Who would honestly wear a bikini into battle? Now, dammit, I don't care if the girl is doing it for fun. It's the girls who do it for attention alone that makes me angry.
Another thing that upsets me is when a person who is starting out with making their cosplays don't make the best costume, and people let them know it. Who cares if it doesn't look like a professional did it? If that person has fun, that's all I'm concerned about.
As I stated before, I am a bigger sized girl. I have social anxiety and it scares me to cosplay at times. Even in the friendliest of conventions, there's always that one asshole. I know you'll probably think, "But Beccu, that one guy shouldn't ruin anyone's fun!" But that one asshat could ruin the entire trip for someone. I've been there.
So here is my message for the bigger girls cosplaying, or even those girls who don't feel comfortable with themselves: Try to ignore the media. Some of the big girls in anime are used for comic relief, and we shouldn't have to put up with that fat girl stereotype bullshit. Always have fun.
Also, to the future artists who may some day make anime or manga: Please don't make ridiculously overweight characters who's main purpose is to be picked on and walked all over.

The only thing I think that will bother me about Blogger is the wonderful idea that Google+ uses my real name. I do not have anything to be ashamed about, but I think people can see my address as well. My parents could see anything I post by simply searching my name.
The only other thing I do not like about Blogger is the face you have to have your blog six months before you can use AdSense. I'm not trying to get rich by blogging, but a little extra money in my pocket from doing something I like isn't a bad idea.

As you guys and gals are about to find out, I am a huge nerd. A huge nerd in cowboy country. So here's a little tale of my best and worst anime convention experiences. Please remember that these are my opinions, and a con I may not have liked, others may have. Once again these are my experiences. I'll start with the worst, but there will also be good points, if I can think of any. And even if I've only been to two different conventions, they were very, very different.
Evillecon 2014 was not what I was used to. There was almost no love and I didn't feel like I fit in. Those who I asked to hug, except for one dude, rejected me. But rejection is ok, right? Not the way most of the con goers did.
There was this one Link cosplayer, I asked for a hug after a picture and this girl looked at me like I was a murderer and literally ran away. I think a simple 'No, thank you.' Would have been fine. So I figure most of them think 'Instant fame via cosplay pic on the internet' Will be their destiny.
Another bad point: The entire convention was very disorganized. We, my boyfriend and I, were trapped in a hall during the cosplay contest. Every time we tried to move out of the hall, someone would stop us. People would glare. We said our excuses and tried to pass, but still, we failed to get through. We finally, to my regret, had to push through rudely.
There was a line in the lobby for pre-reg and registration at the door. It was right in front of the vendor's room. I asked the present staff what the line was for and he looked at me like I was stupid. Very unfriendly at times.
The game area, card game area, and artist ally were separated by railing. You could hardly hear anything the artists said! And the vendors room was so very cramped. I saw at least eight vendor displays be knocked over and mucked up.
I've hardly seen people hold doors for each other, or say exucse me or sorry when bumping into eatch other or jumping in front of them.
One good point I can remember about Evillecon, doesn't even count. The artists selling their items were very friendly. Since Rae, my boyfriend, is allergic to most metals, one girl gladly took the metal off a necklace then gave it to him without charging anything.
The only other good thing I can think of is the girl we spoke to whilst we were having a smoke outside. She was very sweet and social.
That was a lot of bad, but I had a lot to rant about. Now for the good.
OMGcon 2011 was my first convention. I couldn't sit still. I went back again in 2013, the love was still strong. And with the transition to Owensboro, only around a half hour from my house, I'm proud to say I'll be going back in a few weeks.
They are always so very friendly. I really hope it stays this way, but the staff are the same, so it should be fine.
The first year I went, there was a staff guy in the elevator, making sure people just didn't cram in. We talked and I gave him a hug and told him thank you and that made his day.
It wasn't just staff who were friendly, the con goers were also. So many hugs and laughs were had. I got a little dehydrated, and a girl got me a bottle water and gave it to me in the hallway. I tripped coming up the stairs, the shoes I made were loose on my feet, and some couple helped me up and said not to worry. The vendor and artist rooms were cramped, but it was no where near as bad as Eville.
To sum this all up, I'm a devoted OMGcon fan. I would go back to Evillecon, but this time, I'll have to prepare myself.
